(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Natasha Bedingfield became a pop star after music moguls told her she should keep the songs she wrote for other people.
The British singers original ambition was to write material for existing talent, but changed her mind after being told she could become a star herself.
The 28-year-old has since released hits such as Unwritten and Soulmate.
That was my aim. I was just going to write for other people. Every person I worked with was like Oh, you should keep that for yourself you should actually be an artist. So at that point I did it really, she told the Coco Perez website.
The blonde-haired beauty has been working on a new album called Strip Me and she penned much of it in New Zealand, a country she finds an inspiring place to write music.
After the success of her last two records, Natasha has concentrated on creating a purer sound for her latest offering. The singer has revealed that she hates artificial sounds on tracks which seem to be prevalent in contemporary pop songs.
I dont put auto-tune on it. I dont like that. Thats why the album is called Strip me because it is pop music, it is still anthemic, structured songs but I feel like I am stripping it back from all the layers and the gimmicks - Im doing it intentionally. (C) Cover Media
