One of the most promising newcomers of Bollywood, Ayushmann Khurana made his debut in Hindi Film Industry with John Abraham's maiden production 'Vicky Donor', which despite of being made on a sensitive issue and releasing during Indian Premiere League (IPL) Cricket Series did a fairly good business at box office.
The film emerged as a hit and hence it has given the filmmakers the courage to release their films during the IPL season which was not the case when IPL was introduced and had become a rage in the nation.
Though filmmakers refrained from releasing their films during the cricketing season in initial years, they have now dared to fight back. And the latest to join this list is filmmaker Rohan Sippy who is all set to release his upcoming movie 'Nautanki Saala' during IPL 2013.
Starring Ayushmann Khurrana in lead, this will be his second film that will be releasing during IPL and he has no qualms over it.
"My debut film released during the same time and did well. Basically, a cinema lover will go and watch the movie whether it's IPL time or any other match. Fingers crossed for this movie too," said Ayushmann.
His director too stated that a good film will work regardless of the cricket series.
"My last movie 'Dum Maaro Dum' released during IPL and it did fairly well. Even 'Vicky Donor' hit the theatres at the same time and did great business. Not many movies release in April, therefore there is a good chance that my film will stay for a longer time in cinemas. There is no hard and fast rule. If the content is good the audience will watch the movie," quoted Rohan.
The film is slated to release on April 13, 2013.
