(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Neil Patrick Harris says he is tired of calling partner David Burtka his "better half" and would prefer to call him his husband.

The 38-year-old actor opened up about his relationship to Out magazine and how he feels about gay marriage.

Neil told the publication that he looks forward to tying the knot with David with whom he co-parents 15-month-old twins.

"I'm not the biggest fan of the word partner,'" Neil shared. "It either means that we run a business together or we're cowboys."

"'Boyfriend' seems fleeting, like maybe we met two weeks ago. I've been saying better half' for as long as I've been able to. I think it's a little self-deprecating and clearly defines that we're in a relationship, but it would be nice to say my husband.'"

Although the pair have a great understanding and constantly work on their relationship, Neil says that it's not always fun.

"Sometimes I'm deeply in love with David and head-over-heels, and sometimes I question whether it's going to work out and is meant to be," he said candidly. "It's more good times than bad, but it's not always good."

David was a bit more positive and gushed about what he loved about the How I Met Your Mother star.

"Without him, I can't breathe," he said. "The biggest thing is that he makes me laugh, but he's also smart. He can do everything. I'm not kidding; I think he's half robot. He makes me a little more grounded, and I bring out the wild side in him." (C) Cover Media
