Nelly: I never left the music industry

20th December 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Nelly feels frustrated because people keep referring to his new album as a comeback.

The American rapper insists he never left the music business, and gets annoyed about suggestions he did. The 36-year-olds new collection is called 5.0, and the single Just a Dream has enjoyed international success.

Despite huge hype surrounding the release of 5.0, Nelly is determined to remain philosophical about its potential reception.

I feel great about the album, but you never know how its perceived until its out. Just a Dream is doing well. The acceptance of the song is amazing, but people are calling it the return, even though I havent gone away, Nelly said. Some people ask if I call this my comeback album, but I dont think so.

The musician insists he only released one album, Brass Knuckles, which didnt do as well as the others. Besides that he has continued to grow.

The only attitude that gets Nelly down is peoples perception that you cant always do well forever.

I only had one album that wasnt much of a success, but when people have succeeded so much, people just dont want you to succeed anymore, He told Hip Hop magazine. (C) Cover Media
