(Cover) - -No story type selected- - Nick Jonas has revealed he took salsa lessons for his role in the musical Hairspray.

The teen star of the Jonas Brothers has revealed that is excited to perform in the hit show during its limited run at the Hollywood Bowl this summer. The musical centres around an overweight girl who wants to perform on a television dance show.

Nick will star as Link Larkin, the teen heartthrob played by Zac Efron in the 2007 film version.

"It's a great role and I got to get my dance on a little bit, so I'm going to figure that out," he told MTV. "I did some salsa dancing; just went out and did some salsa dancing, which was a really fun experience and, I think, kind of got me moving a little bit. So I'm feeling a bit more comfortable than I did before and I'm excited to get out there and do the whole Link Larkin thing."

Nick, who has performed in Disney's Camp Rock and Les Misrables is no stranger to musicals.

This summer he will share the Hairspray stage with fellow Disney star Corbin Bleu and Glee actor John Stamos. Harvey Fierstein and Marissa Jaret Winokur who were in the original Broadway version will also star.

Nick has revealed he is thrilled to be performing alongside great actors.

"When they approached me about it, I was really blessed 'cause I knew the cast would be amazing. And when I finally saw it, I was really thrilled," Nick said. (C) Cover Media
