December 15, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):The Ghost Rider star Nicolas Cage is the latest entry in director Simon Wests latest venture Medallion. Cage fans will see him in the avatar of a former master thief, who has a big challenge of finding his daughter, who has been kidnapped by someone and locked her in trunk of a medallion taxi cab in New York.

You must be thinking of the 2008 movie Taken after hearing the storyline, which was quite close to this upcoming thriller Medallion. Here, Cage will have some limited hours to get hold of the kidnapper as well as his daughter, who is getting suffocated inside the taxi trunk. And, we all know how much of such taxis are there in the New York City. So, its a big challenge for the doting father to get for the right taxi.

Earlier in October, the news was disclosed that Simon West will soon start work on his action thriller Medallion. This film unites the director with Cage after 13 years. They last worked together in the 1997 film Con Air.

The script for Medallion was penned down by David Guggenheim, who is a former journalist. Initially, the names like Statham and Clive Owen were doing the rounds to play the role but finale Cage was given the green signal. He will start shooting for the movie once he has completed works of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance in Romania.
