Nicole Richie told her mother her eyebrows had fallen off in the shower after shaving them went wrong.

The American star grew increasingly worried about her bushy brows as her teenage years approached. Her mom Brenda wanted her to stay natural for as long as possible, so Nicole came up with a cunning way to resolve the issue.

"All I wanted to do when I was 12 was wax my eyebrows. My mother is Southern and very strict so she wasn't having any of it," Nicole recalled in the latest edition of UK magazine Elle. "I shaved what I thought was just the middle, but when I looked in the mirror half my brows were gone! I don't know what she was more upset about: the fact that I did it, or the fact that I told her my eyebrows fell off in the shower."

Nicole's father is Lionel Richie and music is a big part of her life. She listens to different albums every day and thinks people will be surprised to hear how rocky her tastes are.

"I listen to classic rock all day long. I love Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Marianne Faithfull," she said. "I'm a huge fan of The Rolling Stones Keith Richards' style is so effortless, cool and full of personality."
