Noel Gallagher would be unfair TV judge

19th August 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Noel Gallagher would only put "obese people" or "midgets" through to the X Factor live finals if he were a judge on the hit show.

Music mogul Simon Cowell approached the British musician to be a guest judge on the popular television show. After several requests, Noel still was not interested in participating.

He finally had to tell Simon why he would not be an ideal guest judge.

"[Simon's] a nice guy but I was like, 'You don't want me on there', and he was saying we do, and I was saying you really don't want me on there, because I will just put through obese people... or midgets," Noel admitted to British radio station Key 103 in Manchester.

Simon thought Noel would be an ideal guest judge because of his outspoken personality. The renowned nasty' judge wanted a forceful character to provide guidance to acts on the show.

"[Simon] was saying we're going to revamp the show... and he was saying that we need somebody to - how he put it - be the alpha male," Noel explained.

"He said, 'Basically somebody to replace me', and I was like 'What you mean have all the kids round my house in the back garden and saying to big lunatics 'I've made my decision and I can only take three...'"

Another reason why Noel turned down the opportunity was because of his family's potential disapproval of the process. The ex-Oasis star believes that his wife and son would object to his constant opinions.

"No, [judging's] not going to happen in my house, the missus would kick off for a start and I've got a four-year-old lad who's on a power trip at the minute and he'd be like, 'You're rubbish, shut up'" he smiled. (C) Cover Media
