Ekta Kapoor is one of the most successful and ambitious producers of our time. She started her career with television and made a smooth entry in the film industry as a producer.
Today she is enjoying the best of both worlds. She is one of the biggest brands in the country, however, she has not given up on her roots yet.
Ekta still is very active on television with her shows running on leading channels. And while her films experiment with various genres like horror, suspense, thriller and sex comedies, on television she is still playing her cards on the good old traditions with joint family dramas. She claims that one cannot rule out saas-bahu sagas as yet.
"TV is a huge medium and I believe that nothing goes out of fashion on TV. Everything depends on the treatment," says Ekta justifying her various shows running successfully on tube.
However, the producer who is making a living out of family dramas on TV, isn't a huge fan of joint families.
"I would never want to live in a joint family. I like the set up of a joint family. I would like to live in a joint family on weekends. But once you have lived in a nuclear family it is very tough to manage in a joint one," said Ekta.
