(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Octavia Spencer was thrilled to attend an Oscars after-party as it marked the last time she'll have to wear Spanx for a while.

The Help actress received the best supporting actress Academy Award at Sunday night's ceremony. Afterwards she attended Vanity Fair's prestigious bash at the Sunset Tower Hotel.

She was thrilled to have picked up the accolade, not least because it marked the end of awards season.

Octavia recently admitted wearing three pairs of tummy-flattening underwear under her gowns when on the red carpet. "No more Spanx for me!" she happily told New York Post.

Also at the party were Victoria and David Beckham and Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes. The foursome spent a lot of time chatting together, with Tom revealing he was happy The Artist was crowned best picture.

"I thought the show was great - there were many great movies this year. I loved The Artist. It is a fantastic movie," he said.

Prince Albert of Monaco and his new wife Charlene brought a little glamour to the event, although the royal admitted he wasn't completely prepared.

"I am a little embarrassed to say I haven't seen hardly any of the movies. I've only seen The Descendants, and that was in my room last night," he laughed.

Also at the bash were Gerard Butler, Olivia Wilde, Michelle Williams, Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana and Michael Douglas.

There were many other parties held after the famous awards ceremony, among them one thrown by Madonna and Guy Oseary.

Ashton Kutcher had a fine time at the event, partying at Guy's home until 4.30am. Things were kicked off by Madonna's dancers, who took to the floor and performed a routine.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Mila Kunis, Sandra Bullock, Jonah Hill and Heidi Klum were all in attendance.

George Clooney threw at intimate party "for just close friends and family", according to New York Post. Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Emily Blunt and Cindy Crawford were among those who had fun at Craig's Restaurant in West Hollywood with the Oscar nominee.

The night belonged to The Artist, the silent movie homage which picked up five gongs including best actor for Jean Dujardin and best director for Michel Hazanavicius.

Stars of the movie spent time at all the biggest Hollywood parties, and apparently appeared on television on Monday morning after getting no sleep at all. (C) Cover Media
