Shraddha Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor starrer 'Half Girlfriend' created much hype with its quirky posters. The motion poster too depicted their confusing relationship. Now the official trailer of the film is released and Shraddha shared it on her Twitter handle by tweeting, "A story about unconditional love.VERY excited & nervous to present the official #HalfGirlfriendTrailer! #19thMay ❤️."

The trailer starts with Madhav Jha aka Arjun Kapoor struggling to seek an admission in a college but his strict Bihari accent becomes the barrier. There comes a day when he falls in love with the most beautiful girl in the college Riya Somani aka Shraddha Kapoor who is also a basketball player.  

The relationship enters a rough patch when Riya confesses that she can't be his girlfriend instead she can be his 'Half Girlfriend.' Like the name, the trailer too get a half-hearted treatment. While Arjun Kapoor's Bihari accent has failed to impress, Shraddha Kapoor does not enjoy much screen presence in the second half of the trailer. The only thing which impress us is the background score and Arijit Singh can be applauded for the same. His voice creates some suspense which the trailer somehow fails to create.

Based on the Chetan Bhagat's novel with the same name, we can only expect that the film turns out to be interesting when it hit the theatres. Directed by Mohit Suri, it releases on May 19, 2017.
