(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Olivia Wilde and husband of eight years Tao Ruspoli have split.
The 26-year-old American actress wed Tao, the son of the late Italian Prince Dado Ruspoli, back in 2003 when she was still a teenager.
Olivia and Tao had reportedly been struggling to make things work due to work commitments keeping them apart, and the decision to split is thought to have been mutual.
"They have been living apart after trying for quite some time to make their relationship work," a source told People.
A representative for the actress confirmed the separation, although no other information is currently available.
Olivia has spoken in the past about how she met Tao only six months before they decided to marry.
"We eloped," she was quoted as saying in the Women's Health's January/February issue. "There was nothing traditional about it. You're not thinking, 'We must be perfect! It was, 'Hey, isn't this an optimistic thing to do? And if it lasts, we're lucky.'"
In other celebrity couple news, Sex and the City actress Cynthia Nixon and Christine Marinoni have welcomed a son. The couple have been dating since around 2004, and announced their engagement in 2009.
Cynthias representative has confirmed that Christine gave birth to the baby boy, Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni, yesterday.
"Christine and baby are doing great," the rep told People.
Cynthia already has two children, Samantha, 15, and Charles, 8, from her previous relationship with Danny Mozes. (C) Cover Media
