Akshay Kumar's next film titled 'Kesari' is based on the historic Battle of Saragarhi and Khiladi will be essaying the role of Havildar Ishar Singh, who was a part of an army of 21 Sikhs which fought against 10,000 Afghans.
Now on the auspicious occasion of Lohri the 'Gold' actor shared a monochrome still from the film that includes all his 20 co-actors which are his troop members from the film. Sharing the picture via his official Instagram handle Akshay wrote, "Dushman de saahmne jad tak soormeyaan diyaan hikkaan tanndiyaan rehangiyaan, Iss dharti te lohriyaan manndiyaan rehangiyaan!! 36th Sikh Regiment di Saragarhi tukdi vallon sabnu Lohri diyaan bahut bahut vadhaayian! " The poster looks like as if it's from that era.
The film also stars Parineeti Chopra as the female lead. Earlier Akki had shared the official poster of the film announcing the release date and wrote, "On #SaragarhiDay, here's the first look of #KESARI - our humble tribute to the martyrs of Saragarhi! Aaj meri pagdi bhi Kesari...Jo bahega mera woh lahu bhi Kesari... Aur mera jawaab bhi Kesari."
Kesari is helmed by Anurag Singh and produced by Karan Johar under his home banner Dharma Productions and is slated to release on March 21, 2019.
