One Direction's Harry Styles has revealed his most awkward dating experience.

The curly-haired singer is famed for his colourful love life, and has famously romanced older women. Harry has recalled the most awful date he has ever been on.

"I went out with a girl who was so shy she barely said a word. I'd say: 'What have you been up to?' and she'd say: 'Not much.' She just killed the conversation!" he laughed in an interview with British magazine OK!

Harry's bandmate Zayn Malik has also had his fair share of disastrous dates. The star was left unimpressed when a girl went over the top with her giggling.

"I went on a date with this girl once and she was really nice, but whenever I said anything she would laugh - and her laugh was a really weird laugh," he quipped.

"We didn't go any further than that one date!"

One Direction - also comprising of Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne - have amassed a loyal female following since cracking the charts with the debut album Up All Night.
