Miniscule novelty...
Filmmaker A M Jothikrishna, who is credited with starting up the careers of Shriya Saran, Tamannah and Ileana D'Cruz in Kollywood, has launched himself as an actor in Oo La La La.
The title 'Oo La La La', as Jothikrishna suggests, stands for Oorvasi, Latha, Lalitha andLavanya. True that the director has come out with an interesting idea, but he could have ensured that the flavour is retained in the movie too.
While passing the test as an actor, Jothikrishna, as a director, has failed to ensure that things are in place. In his attempt to show on screen the mindset and lifestyle of today's youngsters, the filmmaker seems to have got confused whether to take the proceedings in a serious or jovial way.
As a result, a comedian pops up from nowhere and tries in vain to tickle the funny bone, even in the all-serious climax scene.
Surya (Jothikrishna) is a carefree youngster, whose only aim is to spend time happily with girls. But fate has it that girls avoid him totally, for reasons best known to them. However, things change after he comes across Preethi (Divya Bhandari).
The friendship of Preethi brings a sea change in Surya. While Preethi is true to Surya and decides to take the relationship a step further, she realises that Surya uses her only as a bait to attract other girls.
One day, Surya understands that he is wrong. But destiny has other plans for him.
Jothikrishna makes a decent debut. He is good at dance and comedy sequences. Divya aka Preethi Bhandari looks good on screen. Ganja Karuppu continues his dismal show in Oo La La La too, after a string of such movies in the recent past. Thalaivasal Vijay and Rani are good as character artistes.
Songs composed by Sekar Chandra fail to make any big impact. Cinematography and other departments are adequate. On the whole, Oo La La La could have been a much better entertainer, but it sure marks the promising arrival of Jothikrishna as an actor.
