(Cover) - EN Movies - Oscar Isaac is the latest actor to join The Bourne Legacy.
According to Deadline, the Guatemalan star, who was most recently seen as the bad guy in Sucker Punch, has landed the role of Number 3 a brainwashed assassin in the Tony Gilroy-directed movie.
The thriller, which is a spin-off of The Bourne Identity starring Matt Damon, will be set in the world that Jason Bourne lives in but won't feature the character. Instead, rising star Jeremy Renner will play another CIA assassin who is said to have similar identity problems as Matt's amnesiac spy.
Oscar, 31, originally tested for Tony and made such a strong impression on the writer and filmmaker that he seriously considered giving him the lead role that later went to Jeremy.
Oscar joins a cast that already includes Edward Norton and Rachel Weisz.
Oscar is about to wrap filming on Steel Town, the Walden Media drama that also stars Maggie Gyllenhaal and Viola Davis.
He also stars in the Madonna-directed W.E., and Ten Year with Channing Tatum, Anthony Mackie, Justin Long and Rosario Dawson. (C) Cover Media
