The plead filed by Aditya Pancholi and his family to retain the tenancey rights over their Juhu bungalow has been rejected by the Bombay High Court.
The bungalow which is nearby ISKCON temple was rented in 1960 at the rate of Rs150 per month. Reportedly, the court has given the Pancholis time till November 5 to challenge the order, but if they fail, then they have to evict the bungalow.
The landlady of the property filed a case against the Pancholis in July 1978 for being unable to pay the rent for eight months i.e. from February to October 1977 but Aditya Pancholi stated through his legal team that he did not receive any letter/notice from the landlady to clear the outstanding rent.
The landlady claims that the notice was sent to Rajan Pancholi, Aditya's father. The Pancholis claim to have made an oral agreement with her in 1978 and also that she had refused from accepting the rent on various occasions due to unknown motives.
