Peter Facinelli: I was too busy to work with wife

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Peter Facinelli revealed he stood back and let his wife kiss someone else after he was too busy to act alongside her.

The hunky actor wrote the script for TV movie Accidently in Love. He originally penned the romantic tale for him and his wife Jennie Garth to co-star in. However, Peter was promoting The Twilight Saga at the time so had to let another actor step in. Instead, Jennie locked lips with co-star Ethan Erickson.

"I also worried that this would become the Jennie Garth/Peter Facinelli movie instead of a film with two characters. Our playing together could have detracted from the believability of the story and become a distraction. So I took a step back and let my wife kiss someone else," Peter told ET.

The 37-year-old shot to fame back in 2002 starring in the television crime series Fastlane, and more recently achieved international fame for his role as vampire Carlisle Cullen in the Twilight movies.

Facinellis acting career was just beginning to take off when he was inspired to write his first script back in 2003. It stemmed from an Easter holiday spent dressed up in a bunny outfit to entertain his daughters - Luca Bella, 13, Lola Ray, nine, and Fiona Eve, three, with Jennie.

"I hopped around the yard like crazy while the girls looked out the window of our house for eggs," he said. "And I was just in hell. It was hot. I was sweaty. It totally sucked. And I thought, 'I wonder what the guy who has to be in that Barney suit all day feels like?'"

Peter took inspiration from the incident to write about a children's TV show actor, who is trying to get his big break, and supports himself wearing the bunny suit in the meantime. (C) Cover Media
