Bollywood’s cult filmmaker Prakash Jha has churned out socially relevant films like 'Gangaajal', 'Apaharan', 'Raajneeti' and 'Aarakshan', all of which in some or the other way were associated with politics. His next titled 'Chakravyuh' however talks about Maoism, as this time he has got to the roots of the problems.

He recently justified why he chose this sensitive issue for his flick, "While our politics of the first 50 years was based on caste and religion, we are now starting to witness the results of economic factors. This is what my next film, based on the Maoist movement, is about," said Prakash who even had a failed tryst with politics when he lost two Lok Sabha elections in 2004 and 2009.

Here's he revealing more on that front, "I never wanted to enter politics. I wanted to be in Parliament as I wanted to make a difference," said Prakash who didn’t join hands with any parties just for the heck of it and preferred to stay away from it. However, he adds that though he was very much interested in contributing socially, he now doesn't intend to revive it, "I had designated 10 years of my life between the age of 50 and 60 wherein I had plans for politics. I've crossed 60 now and am done with it," said Prakash who just wants to concentrate on films and not politics.
