There were a lot rumours surrounding 2 upcoming mega-star Kollywood films. It was claimed that Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan secretly met recently, to discuss the release dates of their upcoming movies Kochadaiyaan and Vishwaroopam. 

It was also said that they met to discuss how to avoid the clash between the two movies and came to an agreement on releasing the movies together. However, all rumours were untrue.

The respective spokespersons have denied the rumours and said that they are not true.

The spokesperson of Vishwaroopam said, "The makers of Kochadaiyaan have announced a long time ago that the movie will release on 12.12.12 which coincides with Rajinikanth's birthday.

But Vishwaroopam is likely to hit the screens either in September or October. This clearly means there is no clash between the two movies. So, the question on Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan meeting to discuss the release of their films, doesn't arise at all".

Rajinikanth's Kochadaiyaan is a mega-budget film directed by his daughter Soundarya Ashwin. It features Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Sarath Kumar and others in the cast. It is a period film that is inspired by the Pandya king Kochadaiyaan Ranadheeran and is a fictional account of the ruler.

On the other end, Vishwaroopam is a spy-thriller starring Kamal Hassan, Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Rahul Bose and others in the cast. In addition to writing the story, screenplay and dialogues, Kamal has taken the responsibility of directing the movie, as well.
