In recent times, the maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, has been trying his luck with the crime genre. Following 'Raktha Charithra -1' and 'Raktha Charithra-2', the filmmaker is busy working on his next film 'Bejawada Rowdilu'. The film will mark the directorial debut of Vivek Krishna, with Kiran Koneru and Ram Gopal Varma producing the film.

The film recently went on the floors in Vijayawada and plans are to complete the project by September, so that it will be ready for an October release. The film is inspired from the real incidents that happened in Vijayawada, a couple of decades ago. The film has Naga Chaitanya playing the lead role while Kota Srinivasa Rao, Abhimanyu Singh, Ahuti Prasad, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Mukul Dev, Ajay, Ashok Kumar, Phani are part of the cast.
