'Ram Leela' title comes under trouble

28th January 2013

Looks like controversies refuse to leave filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ambitious project 'Ram Leela' alone.

First, it was the casting hassles between Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone and then there were reports of non-payment issues from the labourers.

However, when the first look of the film was released, compliments started to pour in from all ends, putting all issues to rest.

But now, we hear that Bhansali has been slammed with a legal notice for the infringement of the copyright over the title.

According to the accusation made by filmmaker Mukul Abhyankar, the title 'Ram Leela' is registered with him and Sanjay has violated the copyrights.

When Abhyankar first heard about the film's title, he had immediately contacted Bhansali's office in regards with the rights issue. But back then he was assured that the title was not official yet. Hence, when the film's first look was released with the same name, Abhyankar was stunned.

Both Mukul and Sanjay are adamant on keeping the titles for their respective films.
