Karan Johar has long back announced a film on the adaptation of Amish Tripathi's book
'The Immortals of Meluha' and now we hear that he has handpicked
Ranbir Kapoor to play the lead star in the film.
'The Immortals of Meluha' is the first novel of the Shiva trilogy written by Tripathy and Ranbir is all set to play Shiva in its screen adaptation.
The film is being directed by
Ayan Mukerji, Ranbir's best friend, who has already started working on the project that will go on floors in 2014.
Initially, it was KJo who himself wanted to direct the film but he is busy with other projects and so he handed over to the responsibility to Ayan.
Also, it was reported that
Shahid Kapoor was considered to play the lead role in the film, but since Ayan is on board, Ranbir was the obvious choice.
With the Kapoor lad playing Shiva, we wonder who will play his lady love Sati,
Katrina or
Deepika???
