Bollywood's cult filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor's next film 'Fitoor' is a screen adaptation of Charles Dickens famous novel 'Great Expectations', and the director has managed to pull off a casting coup.
Aditya Roy Kapur and Katrina Kaif play the lead, and now he has roped in veteran actress Rekha to play the third lead in the film.
'Fitoor' is an intense story involving three primary characters: a young Kashmiri boy named Noor (Aditya); his muse Firdaus (Katrina) and the mercurial Begum (Rekha).
"Abhishek is an exceptional filmmaker, and we are very pleased to take our association with him forward, after the success of 'Kai Po Che' last year. We believe that his cinematic vision for the Dickens classic, Great Expectations, along with the fantastic cast we've put together, will be something to look forward to," said Siddharth Roy Kapur, managing director, Disney India, who is producing the film.
Abhishek who himself is excited for the film exclaims that the team is looking forward to work on the film.
"Fitoor is a story of grand passion, beauty and love. The entire team is charged about what it promises to be. We're inspired to go all out and give it our best," said Abhishek.
The film is scheduled to release in 2015.
