(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Robert Pattinson is keen to play a serial killer to avoid being typecast.
The actor has won legions of fans thanks to his role as brooding bloodsucker Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie franchise. Although he's proud of the films, he's also keen to try his hand at other roles. Robert has already played a grieving man in Remember Me and a veterinary student in Water for Elephants, but is keen to test his creative juices even more.
"One character he is fascinated with would see him playing a serial killer while there are others for villainous characters in major Hollywood blockbusters as well as an indy movie," a source said. "Robert wants to show he has range to his acting and doesn't want to be typecast as the hero or heartthrob."
The 25-year-old hasn't made a final decision about the exact part yet, but knows it'll be something unexpected. He believes playing someone who is morally ambiguous might win him a more diverse fan base, and be an exciting challenge.
"Robert is excited about moving on to other more diverse roles after Twilight and playing a villain is very appealing to him," the insider added. (C) Cover Media
