Actor Salman Khan's hit-and-run-case has taken a new turn, after a chemical analyst informed about high content of alcohol in Khan's blood sample, now a RTO officer states the mishap took place because of the vehicle's flat tyres.
RTO officer, R S Ketkar said, "It is true that the condition of tyres of a vehicle is inspected by the Regional Transport Office (RTO) to decide whether it (tyres) could be a reason for the mishap."
As the mishap took place in 2002, he was unable to recollect whether the condition of tyres were mentioned in the accident report made for this case.
On this reply, the public prosecutor Pradeep Gharat and defence lawyer Shrikant Shivde had an argument.
While concluding the case hearing, public prosecutor said, "I submitted an application in the court saying that the magistrate, in front of whom the witnesses had deposed earlier, should be produced so that there is no prejudice against the accused but the defence said that if the certified copies of the statements are brought on record, then there is no need for the examination of the magistrate, to which both of us agreed."
The further cross examination will take place on December 24, 2014.
