Russell Brand becomes royal family fan

15th April 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Russell Brand says he used to want to fight the monarchy but now he is impressed by the lovely outfits they wear.

The British funnyman, who is married to American songstress Katy Perry, believes that spending too much time in the US has made him forget his rebellious anti-monarchy stance.

Russell is looking forward to the royal wedding of Britains Prince William and his fiance Kate Middleton, set to take place on April 29 at Londons Westminster Abbey, and will be paying particular attention to the various outfits on display.

"I don't know, the royal wedding, I like it. Since I've been in your country America, I am more interested in the royal family. Before when I was in England, I thought, they're repressing us - bloody aristocracy - power to the people, fight the system. Now I think ah, what a lovely dress," he laughed in an interview with Rachael Ray which airs in full today.

The actor also took the time to discuss one of his biggest passions - his beloved pet cats. He admits the animals can be mischievous sometimes, and joked that the Los Angeles lifestyle has encouraged him to seek help for them.

"One of them, Morrissey - the oldest - he's on Valium, cat Valium," Russell laughed.

"I didn't think I'd ever have a cat psychiatrist in my house, let alone a man waving a crystal over my cat's head." (C) Cover Media
