Russell Brand has Arthur sequel plans

8th May 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Russell Brand has discussed his ideas for a sequel to Arthur.

The British actor plays the title character in the comedy, which also stars Dame Helen Mirren and Jennifer Garner and is a remake of the 1981 classic of the same name.

Russell was thrilled to take on the role of the spoilt-yet-lovable playboy, and argues that if a sequel was made it could show the character in an even more generous light.

I think if there was going to be another film it would be about him giving away all his money, he told Total Film.

Arthur isnt just a rich bloke, hes a beautiful person who treats people well.

The star wishes there were more people like his Arthur alter ego around today. He thinks those who have money should always take a responsibility to help people who are less well off.

You know, when Arthur came out it was the beginning of the boom and bust economy that were now paying the price for, he explained.

Hes an aristocrat and originally the nobility were supposed to be noble. They behaved in a noble way, they cared about people and they accepted they had a responsibility.

The reason they got to live in the house on the hill was because when there was a war they would be leading the front. (C) Cover Media
