Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are reportedly experimenting with a "trial marriage".

The couple have been dating for a few months now and have been travelling the world together for work and pleasure.

In Touch claims they want to be a 100 per cent sure they are suited for each other so are playing house while Ryan shoots his new movie in Thailand.

"He is super-busy filming Only God Forgives there, and she's taken on the role of housewife," a source told the publication.

"They are living together and she's literally doing everything for him."

Ryan, 31, has apparently also broached the subject of marriage with his mother Donna.

"It took her time to get to know Eva, and now she thinks she is right for Ryan," the source added.

Last month, it was reported that Eva was ready to set up home with Ryan. She offered to babysit his beloved dog George while he was away working as a sign of how committed she is.

"He was going to have his friends watch George, but changed his mind at the last minute," a source shared.

"That's a huge deal to him. He wouldn't leave that dog with just anyone."
