Ryan Gosling: Making love is essential

9th December 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ryan Gosling cant understand why women receiving pleasure in movies is considered pornographic.

The 30-year-old actors latest movie Blue Valentine follows the story of a married couple, seeing Ryan and his co-star Michelle Williams involved in some raunchy sequences.

The film initially received a NC-17 rating in the US as it was considered too risqu, although after an appeal it won an R-rating. Ryan cant believe the commotion the movies sex scenes have caused, and feels there are issues which need to be addressed in the world of film classification.

The idea that women can be...brutalised in a sexual context - that being fine - if you give a woman pleasure, its pornographic. It needs to be addressed, he told Extra.

Ryan believes the graphic sex scenes in Blue Valentine are integral to the story. He argues the love the movies characters felt for each other would not have been portrayed effectively without them.

Making love is an essential part of telling that story. It's a way you communicate things that you can't articulate verbally. You have to show somebody how you feel, he explained.

Meanwhile, Ryan is currently rumoured to be dating beautiful actress Blake Lively. The pair spent time together at Disneyland a few months ago, and sources have revealed they seemed to be getting close at the Blue Valentine after-party in New York earlier this week.

Blake waited patiently to greet Ryan. They both looked so happy to be with each other, he hugged her and she held on to his arm, a source told the American edition of OK! magazine.

They talked for a very long time. The only time Ryan left her was when he had to do a quick interview. (C) Cover Media
