(Cover) - EN Movies - Ryan Reynolds feels "trepidation" before every movie he shoots.
The star is currently promoting superhero picture Green Lantern which is expected to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the summer. Although people are looking forward to the release, Ryan takes nothing for granted and is always concerned his films might not be box office successes, or that he's made the wrong choice by agreeing to a part.
"I have trepidation playing any role," he replied, when asked if he was nervous about being in Green Lantern. "You don't get into a plane unless you have a great pilot. [Director] Martin Campbell was attached, and the opportunity to work with him was huge for me Also, I just wanted to learn. I wanted to see what it was like to do a film like this. I had never, ever done anything that involved this much post-production, so I was excited to see how that would all pan out."
Ryan is Hal Jordan in the film, a test pilot for the US Air Force who becomes the first earthman to be inducted into the intergalactic Green Lantern Corps. He had to wear a motion capture suit while shooting and act in front of a green screen, which was challenging.
The 34-year-old enjoyed the process though as it was so far removed from anything he's done before.
"I'd never worked on a movie that required this much imagination. It felt like I was a kid again. Everything you're seeing in this world, you have to imagine I had an idea what I was looking at, but I would have to imagine what that was, and then express it through my eyes for the audience," he told Collider.
Ryan enjoyed the process so much he has his eyes set on other superhero movies. However, he isn't interested in playing hulking men with rippling muscles or strange superpowers.
"By 2014, I'm going to do Wonder Woman, but after that, I think I'm gonna hang up the lasso and the short, short shorts," he joked. (C) Cover Media
