(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ryan Reynolds was left red-faced after smashing up props on the set of his upcoming movie.
The 33-year-old Canadian actor plays the lead role in Rodrigo Cortes' new movie Buried, about a US contractor working in Iraq who finds himself buried alive inside a coffin after being attacked.
Ryan says shooting the scene where his character realises he's trapped in a coffin with only a light and a phone was an extremely challenging experience, and admits he took his frustrations out on the set with a violent outburst.
"Rodrigo was yelling at me while I was trying to fix a flashlight, talk into a phone and sand was everywhere, I can't breathe, I'm tired, it's day 15 of the shoot...," confessed the actor in an interview with Total Film magazine. "I saw red for 45 seconds or so. It all just got to me. I smashed everything inside the coffin."
Ryan was quick to add that he instantly regretted his actions and says he begged the crew to forgive him for behaving aggressively and breaking the props.
"Come a few moments later I began an exercise in profuse apology," he revealed.
Ryan was thankful that he only took his frustration out on himself and the props, and says he didn't launch a verbal tirade on any individual members of the crew because he respects them all so much.
"If I'd directed it at any one crew member I couldn't have lived with myself," he added. (C) Cover Media
