Saif Ali Khan holds the repute of being the "Chote Nawab" citing his glorious family background. The actor holds a very suave image in the Hindi film industry where he is known for his style and panache. But however, this image of his was tainted when he recently got involved in a brawl.

Saif reportedly got engaged in an argument with a person in a restaurant of a high profile hotel in Mumbai and it was this verbal spat that led to a physical feud. Saif reportedly, got in a fist fight with the complainant and the latter filed criminal charges against him. Reportedly Saif has been booked against the charges of voluntarily causing harm by dangerous weapons or means under the section 324 and punishment for voluntarily causing grievous harm under section 325.

The actor got arrested and then was granted a subsequent bail after which he called a press conference and released the following statement.

"There was an ugly incident last night where my female friends were abused and I was assaulted. I was hit and I defended myself. I have been to the police station to answer the requirements of law as I am a law abiding citizen. I have also filed a complaint about what happened last night and I am confident that justice will be done. I have seen the interviews given on TV and they look like decent people and I cannot believe that the same people were so aggressive the night before and the lies that they are spreading. I want people to check the CC tv footage in the restaurant that will prove my side. I hope the media is able to remain impartial while the matter is being decided. I don’t think any gentleman would have behaved differently".

He has been making headlines for his forthcoming action -thriller film "Agent Vinod" and with this controversy it seems that the reel screen action hero took the part a tad bit too seriously.
