Sallu aims to release brother's film on Eid next year

27th November 2012

For actor Salman Khan, the idea of releasing his films around the festival of Eid is indeed a lucky charm for him.

As everyone knows, the movies that were released on the festive day like 'Wanted' (2009), 'Dabangg' (2010), 'Bodyguard' (2011) and 'Ek Tha Tiger' (2012), were all major box office hits that reigned the Bollywood film industry.

Now, it is heard that the actor and his brother Sohail Khan will be taking a new project in hand which will hit the floors early August and will be released on Eid next year. Earlier it was heard that the duo were plannning to remake the South film 'Brindavanam'. So apparently, we are not sure if it's the same movie they will be working on or will it be an entirely new project, sources say.

It is already heard that Ekta Kapoor's next titled 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai 2' will be released on Eid next year. The movie starring Akshay Kumar, Imran Khan and Sonakshi Sinha will have a tough competition with Salman, if they release together.

Meanwhile, sources from the trade market have also been talking about Shah Rukh Khan and Rohit Shetty planning to release their movie 'Chennai Express' around 15 days before Eid. This day happens to be lucky for Rohit as his last two movies; 'Singham' and 'Bol Bachchan' that released during the same time, did well at the box office.

They further add that SRK wanted to target Ramadan Eid for the release of his film, but he was advised not to do so as Salman seems to have a proprietorial rights over the festive day.

'Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai 2' and 'Chennai Express' are working hard towards the completion of their film. Simultaneously, Sallu and Sohail are also working on the scripts of their new movie.

Seems like Bollywood will have an Eid bonanza in 2013 with more than one superstar's movie coming on the same day.
