Salman Khan's 2002 hit-and-run case has taken an unexpected turn.
At the latest hearing that took place on Tuesday, three witnesses identified the actor as the person behind the wheel, injuring four and killing one at a pavement in Bandra.
The witnesses - Muslim Sheikh, Mannu Khan and Kalim Mohammed Shaikh were among those run over by Salman's Toyota Land Cruiser when they were sleeping on a footpath near American Express Bakery on Hill Road Junction in Bandra on September 28, 2002.
Out of the three witnesses, Muslim Sheikh also made an allegation of being offered Rs. 5 lakh as a buy out.
In keeping with the statement made by the witnesses, the actor is being retried for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The charge attracts a 10-year sentence.
It remains to be seen what the final verdict of the case will be.
