When Sonam Kapoor was announced to be cast opposite Superstar Salman Khan in Sooraj Barjatya's next, 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo', the media and the industry frenzy was unexplainable. It was after a long time that a fresh pair has been announced.

The news was special as Salman was involved. There was a lot of speculation as to how Sonam grabbed the film, against Salman's other favourites which feature the likes of Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Katrina Kaif, etc.

But the recent buzz in tinsel town hints at some trivia which might give some direction to this story. The grapevine is about how Sonam clinched the deal.

According to a report on a website, Sonakshi's desi image had impressed Sooraj enough to offer her the film. But it was Salman, who actually has launched and promoted Sonakshi, who advised a change in cast.

He advised Sooraj to sign an actress which will give the audience a fresh jodi so that their interest remains alive. Though Sooraj was keen on casting Sonakshi, Salman's suggestions changed the game.

And it was then that Sonam was offered the film as she has never worked with Salman before.
