(Cover) - EN Star Style - Saoirse Ronan has said it would take a lot for her to give up beautiful food to star in a film role.
The teenage actress features in The Way Back, directed by Peter Weir, which follows the journey of a group of prisoners from a Siberian gulag in the 1940s.
Saoirse, who plays a young refugee called Irena, said that although the characters were supposed to look naturally gaunt from the hardship they had experienced, she felt no need to change what she ate in preparation for the role.
To be honest I didnt really go on a diet or do any of those things, we didnt really talk about anything like that, she told Cover Media about the discussions she had with her fellow cast mates and director before shooting began.
It wasnt anything that was really important to me. I think that Irena could have looked after herself anyway when it came to food...It didnt feel like it was something I needed to do deprive myself of beautiful food. (C) Cover Media
