(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Saoirse Ronan has no plans to go out on the hunt for blokes and would rather relax at home.
The 16-year-old Irish actress shot to international fame with her role in 2007 movie Atonement, which confirmed her status as one of the movie industrys most talented rising stars. Her latest role in Peter Weirs The Way Back about a group of people escaping from a Siberian gulag has also earned her critical praise, but the star isnt letting success go to her head.
Saoirse wants to maintain her down-to-earth lifestyle and isnt keen on partying or meeting boys, although she confesses that she will probably be interested in romance in the near future.
Im not really into the whole disco thing. I prefer to just relax at home and hang out with friends. I definitely dont go out on the hunt for blokes or anything like that! Although, at my age, I suppose youd expect it to start happening soon, she mused.
Saoirses maturity sets her apart from many celebrities who find fame at a young age and go off the rails, and the teenagers lack of interest in the showbiz circuit has probably helped keep her feet on the ground.
The actress admits she is naive about illegal substances, and plans to remain that way as she has no desire to get in with drug-taking crowds.
Well, I certainly havent been offered drugs, and Im never around bad influences, she told British newspaper The Times. But if I ever was Id know how to detect it, and I would stay away from those kind of people. (C) Cover Media
