The newly brunette singer shot to fame as one fifth of pop group Girls Aloud, although she has since gone on to become a successful actress too, appearing in movies such as St. Trinian's and its sequel St. Trinian's II: The Legend of Fritton's Gold.

Sarah who is currently engaged to DJ Tom Crane, 31 - has recently come under fire after pictures showed her face looking different on a night out. Speculation has since mounted that the stunning star has resorted to surgery, but she has insisted that her swollen face was a result of a strong facial.

I havent had surgery, I promise. You know what, Id just had a really strong facial and my face just went dry, she told Look magazine. It wasnt a strong chemical peel theyre a bit hardcore. It was more like a deep facial. I had a bit of a nightmare with my make-up that day, thats all. I just kept on piling it on because my skin was so dry.

The former-blonde who is famed for her edgy look says going under the knife is not even a consideration for her at present. She understands the reasoning behind some peoples decision however.

Surgery isnt something I really want to talk about right now, but each to their own, she added. (C) Cover Media
