2017 Diwali release 'Secret Superstar' starring Zaira Wasim, Meher Vij, Raj Arjun and Aamir Khan had a hard knock on the box-office clashing with 'Golmaal Again'. Competing with an established entertaining franchise was a big risk but in fact, the movie is going thanks to a positive word of mouth and responsive critical acclaim.

The film has now set a lukewarm benchmark for its makers by reaching 50.50 crores after the 11th day of its release. Seems to be fair figures on the charts so far in context to the lead cast and mega clash factor. The film is predicted to reach the 55 crores before the end of the second week and it won't be a surprise if Aamir's underrated film reach the 60 crore mark as well. Aamir Khan who is way popular in China is determined to take 'Secret Superstar' there and says he has already started planning the release.

''Secret Superstar will definitely release in China in next one or two months. We are working on the planning aspect of it," said Aamir.

The film is produced by Aamir and Kiran Rao under the banner Aamir Khan Productions, Zee Studios and Akash Chawla. Story of a 15-year-old school girl from Vadodara named Insiya who is very passionate about singing, keeps daydreaming about the tunes in her head and wants to make it grand some day. Her backbone is her loving mother Najma played by Meher Vij who is a true sweetheart you will ever witness. Whereas, the hurdle in her life is his arrogant father played by Raj Arjun.
