Shailene Woodley: I don't care about fame

2nd May 2012

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Shailene Woodley has announced that she doesn't "pay any attention" to the fame and fortune part of being an actress.

The 20-year-old star of The Descendants opened up in the June issue of Asos magazine.

She says that she is more concerned about the kind of work she does than being the most popular person in Hollywood.

"I don't pay any attention to all of that stuff," she told the publication. "I know nothing about the industry, nothing about the business' and I intend to always be that way."

"There are more options coming in for me [since her role opposite George Clooney], but that really doesn't affect me, because I will never do a movie I'm not passionate about.

"I'd rather be in a two-minute scene in a phenomenal Meryl Streep movie than the lead of an action-hero film."

The Secret Life of the American Teenager star added that she has a penchant for darker roles.

"Movies are where my heart is at," she shared. "I love dark role roles that appear scary. Not in a horror film way, but like Black Swan or The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Films that take the audience on an emotional journey." (C) Cover Media
