(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Shia LaBeouf says adoring fans give him a better "boost" than any energy drink.
The movie hunk is famed for portraying Sam Witwicky in the Transformers action franchise, and is currently promoting third instalment Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
Shia has spoken about filming the Michael Bay-directed picture in Chicago, recalling how glad he was to see hoards of admirers supporting him.
"[I] could not believe what a festival it was. There were, like, 200,000 people who came out to watch us totally destroy Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive!" he is quoted as saying by the Chicago Sun-Times.
"I've never seen anything like it And having those thousands of people there cheering us on really gave us a big boost. It was better than any energy drink."
Shia also made reference to his encounter with police during the shooting of 2008 thriller Eagle Eye. The star was arrested at drugstore Walgreens in the Streeterville area of the city for being publicly intoxicated and refusing to leave the premises.
"At least I didn't get into trouble on this film," he blushed.
"Instead of revisiting that experience with the Chicago police, I'd rather give a great shout-out to the police officers plus the fire department and former Mayor Daley for all they did for us to make it possible to make this picture in a way that matched [director] Michael Bay's vision."
