Kevin McHale: I take my wheelchair everywhere

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kevin McHale says he is a "diva" when it comes to his wheelchair.

The 23-year-old actor is best known for his role as Artie Abrams in the hit Fox television series Glee. The star's character is a paraplegic manual wheelchair user, who is an integral member of the school's musical club.

Kevin, who is currently on tour with Glee, says he's very particular about what wheelchair he uses for his shows.

"I bring the same wheelchair. I'm a diva about my chair," he confessed in an interview with BBC Radio One. "It's been everywhere. It's been on X Factor. That wheelchair has met Cheryl Cole, the Obamas. Wow, I'm starting to realise this chair is cooler than me."

Kevin plays a high school student in the popular musical comedy, and says he is anxious about "graduating" and moving on from the role.

The American actor, who also appears as Everett McDonald in Katy Perry's single Last Friday Night, has joked that he may ask the writers to sabotage Artie's future on the show.

"We are supposed to graduate this year. I might persuade them to flunk me," he quipped. "And I'm supposed to be the smart one!" (C) Cover Media
