Shriya offers prayers at Tirupati

21st June 2011

Shriya Saran, an ardent devotee of Lord Balaji, offered prayers at the Almighty's shrine on the Tirumala hills in Tirupati. She was accompanied by her family members, according to sources.

'I am a great believer in God. Our family's yearly trip to Tirupati is something we look forward to and we never missed it so far. I am lucky to have been born in a family that gives value to faith,' she said in an interview earlier.

Going down the philosophical lane, Shriya said: 'There is an equal reaction for everything that one does and that's called Karma. So I ensure in all possible ways that my acts don't hurt anyone.'

Currently busy shooting opposite Jiiva for Rowthriam, the young actress says, "I wish I could work with good directors and prove that I can not only look glamorous on screen but act. If you see my stills from Deepa Mehta`s Midnight's Children, you will be shocked as I play a dark slum girl, something which I have never done before."
