(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Sigourney Weaver admits she "was a freak" in her youth.

The 62-year-old actress, who is best known for her roles in the Alien film franchise, reveals she wasn't always comfortable with her looks.

Sigourney felt quite awkward as an adolescent.

"I was [nearly 6ft] tall when I was 11, so I was a freak, and I'm grateful that I had parents who encouraged me to be myself," Sigourney confessed to People magazine. "I don't know how else one can be!"

Sigourney takes pride in her appearance, but finds that her husband of nearly 30 years Jim Simpson and their 22-year-old daughter Charlotte are harsh critics.

Though she has tried Botox, she has sworn the treatment off.

"Never again," Sigourney vowed. "My husband and daughter made so much fun of me, I thought, It's not worth it to go home and deal with this!' I'm grateful I don't have a husband who wants me to look 20 years younger!" (C) Cover Media
