Katie Holmes reportedly had an awkward encounter with Nicole Kidman recently.

The actress is married to Tom Cruise who divorced from Nicole in 2001 after 11 years of marriage.

But Life & Style reports that the pair ended up at the same Hollywood hotspot but made sure they didn't come face to face.

The two actresses were at Soho House in Los Angeles on March 14 when the incident allegedly occurred.

"When Katie walked upstairs to the lounge, she saw Nicole and immediately looked away like she was trying very hard to avoid eye contact with her," an eyewitness told the publication.

"It was like she was taken off guard it was like a standoff! They didn't even say hi. It was so awkward!"

A rep for Katie denies there was any snub but the insider claims that she made sure to keep her distance from Nicole although the Oscar winner did not seem too concerned about it.

"[Nicole] just looked at Katie, then looked away," the insider added. "But after Katie noticed Nicole in the lounge, she quickly walked to the patio area."

Tom and Nicole adopted two children while they were married; Isabella and Connor. He went on to marry Katie in 2006 and they have daughter Suri together who turns six next month.
