Simbhu was all praise for Anushka during the audio launch of 'Vaanam' which has Simbhu and Anushka in the lead role. Simbhu' who always gets into controversies, is not only the hero of this film but has once again become embroiled in a controversy because of the song Evandi Unnai Petha in 'Vaanam'. Simbhu has now released the audio CD of this film. He said,” Director Krish of this film is equivalent to 10 Gowtham Menons and 20 Balas, because the person who introduced him was Anushka. I am proud that I have acted in this film. 'Vaanam' is the remake of the Telugu film 'Vedham'. Anushka who had done the female lead role in 'Vaanam' has also done the female lead role in the Telugu version too. Krish has directed this film. When we decided to remake this film in Tamil, we wanted Anushka to do the heroine's role. On the recommendation of Anushka, producer Ganesh and I called upon Krish and spoke to him. We only spoke to him for 10 minutes. He only spoke about the mistakes he made in 'Vedam'. Seeing the interest he had for the story, we signed him to direct this film. Anushka is a good actress. She participated in the shooting with full dedication.”
