(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Simon Cowell would love to conduct a global talent contest.

The 51-year-old music mogul has made a career out of being a hardnosed panel judge on talent shows in the UK and the US.

After starting out on British show Pop Idol, Simon joined the judging panel of The X Factor, a televised singing competition in the UK. The show is due to be exported to America on the Fox network this year.

Amidst all his success Simon has spoken of a professional regret which he hopes to rectify in the near future. As judge on World Idol in 2003, Simon was part of a show widely panned by critics. Simon admits the show wasnt very good but hopes to revamp the format only with a few definite changes this time around.

We had 16 judges and that was too many. There was a Polish idiot, a Canadian idiot...all trying to be me. It was horrific, he told Closer magazine. (C) Cover Media
