October 12, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Billionaire musician Simon Cowell became Lightning Cowell for a day after he was asked to change his name by The X Factor presenter Konnie Huq. The official change name took place on the sets of the popular television show when the other judges on the show also joined in with Konnie Huq, pressing their demand on Simon Cowell. The singer initially took the incident lightly, soon to realize that others present on the sets were actually serious! Konnie Huq even had the legal papers required for change of name prepared for the musician!

Media reports claim that Simon Cowell was extremely annoyed when a man by the name of Storm Lee entered as a contestant on The X Factor. Cowell even refused to call him by the name of Storm saying that the name sounded ridiculous to his ears, asking fellow judge singer Cheryl Cole if she wouldnt find a name such as Lightning, which is related to Storm funny.

There were surprises in store for the musician though. Hardly did he realize that all those present on the sets of the UK television show would take his joke so seriously, most surprisingly they would actually ask him to change his name to Lightning. Presenter Konnie Huq was the first to take the cue, making sure that the legal papers were made available to Simon Cowell. Last heard of, the musician did agree to be called Lightning but for only a day! The episode went on air Saturday night.
