(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Snoop Dogg is in talks to play a nightclub owner in a new movie.

The 39-year-old rapper is believed to be discussing the project with his close friend Richard Kimmel, who is a theatre director and also managing partner at New York cabaret club The Box. The film would see Snoop playing one of the lead roles and the pair are excited about working together.

"Snoop and Kimmel are good friends and have been collaborating on the film, in which Snoop plays the owner of a hot nightclub," reports New York Post.

Snoop is no stranger to the acting business. He previously appeared in movies including Training Day and Starsky & Hutch and had cameo roles in American television shows Weeds, Las Vegas and Entourage.

Earlier this week, Snoop paid tribute to his friendship with Richard by performing a secret live set to celebrate his birthday. A host of famous faces attended the event, including Sienna Miller and Alice Dellal. (C) Cover Media
